On March 16, on the anniversary of the Halapcha’s disaster, George W. Bush in a press conference after his meeting with the British Prime Minister and the Spain Prime Minister attempted to use the victims of Halapcha for his warmongering and dirty plans and to make a case for launching a brutal war against the masses in Iraq. Misleadingly, he shed crocodile tears and tried to show himself as a human defender and he indicated that they had agreed in that meeting to revenge from the Baath regime for its crime in Halapja and other crimes.
This deceiving pose as humanist by George W. Bush is an outright impudence, and taking advantage of the 5000 victims of Halapja in the manner of cowboys. When the Baath regime committed this crime, Saddam Hussein was the mercenary of, and heavily supported by the West led by the US. The chemical weapons used by the Baath regime in Halapja and other parts of Kurdistan were provided by the West. Moreover, they turned a blind eye at these crimes and shamelessly covered and denied them. Now, they admit to these crimes only to use them to kill, starve and displace the people of Iraq. Now George W. Bush, while expressing false grieving for the victims of Halapja wants to make the anniversary of Halapja’s tragedy an excuse for its exposed planes to murder hundreds of thousands more of children and innocent people in Iraq. The relatives of the victims and those injured, displaced and maimed in that tragic event are part of the people that face a possible disaster on the hands of the US.
The George Bush’s attempt to use the victims and the anniversary of Halapja’s tragedy for his own purpose is an exposed play. Previously, he kept reiterating that he would launch a savage war against the people of Iraq in revenge of the victims of September 11. However, the civilized and freedom loving people in the US including the relatives of September 11 have voiced their protest against this deception and slapped him in face.
Shedding tears on the victims of Halapja is an exposed show and the vicious objectives behind it are clear for the masses worldwide. In the end of the day the share of George W. Bush from this deception is the shameful letter sent to him by the corpse of the so-called parliament of the Kurdish tribal-nationalist parties. By becoming the ushers and vanguards of the Iranian army, these parties had a role in preparing the ground for the chemical attack on Halapja. For the last 15 years they have been taking advantage of this tragedy and its victims. During last 12 years, the relatives of the victims and all the other people of Halapja have been tormented under the rule of these nationalist militias. Now, as compatible with their nature, these parties stand with the front of barbarism against the civilized and humanist front.
The oppressed people of Halapja and all freedom loving people in Kurdistan should condemn this farce and the shameful letter by dead “parliament” of the Kurdish nationalist parties in congratulation of the war criminal, George W. Bush. These groups pursuing their ugly and anti-human objectives, under the pretext of revenging for the children of Halapcha call for burning the children in Kurdistan and Iraq in a hell created by the US. This should be condemned. Add you voice to the voice of millions of civilized people worldwide against the war of the US and its mercenaries from Kurdish parties
