Baltimore Chronicle Baltimore's own alternative newspaper on the web. Published monthly, it includes a calendar, news briefs, editorial, feature articles, links to other resources and a great search tool called Webrider.
The Body Politic Net News Net News, is an on-line service for the pro-choice, pro-democracy community. Net News offers in-depth reporting, plus the ability to exchange important information at 21st Century speed. Net News is intended to be a very interactive medium. Body Politic is a national organization with a local focus. The site also includes feature stories from The Body Politic, an online bookshop, search feature.
Boulevards Boulevards is an index of alternative newsweeklies and World Wide Web sites emphasizing travel, arts, entertainment, contemporary culture and politics. Includes alternative guides to cities worldwide, film reviews, astrology, etc.
Canada Labour News 1998 Links to current news, urgent action sites, strike information, national and provincial labor news, feature stories, labor statistics, features and cartoons. Great site!
Change-Links: Progressive Newspaper and Calendar Published monthly as a print newspaper and online in Los Angeles. Includes a calendar, advertisements, hotline information and features articles.
Collective Action Notes (CAN) A quarterly publication from Baltimore which documents and discusses different struggles (strikes, occupations, etc.) world-wide. In addition to Struggle Roundup , which carries brief information about strikes and other struggles worldwide grouped by individual countries, CAN also carries more in-depth reports on struggles and social conditions in different parts of the world sent in by various correspondents. Book, pamphlet and Web site reviews are also featured.
The Consortium for Independent Journalism "The Consortium is edited by Robert Parry, a former reporter for Newsweek and The Associated Press and the author of Trick or Treason on the 'October Surprise' scandal. Parry runs one of the best and most scrupulous political newsletters on the Net, with a strong commitment to 'recovering lost history' as opposed to posturing or punditry. Parry began The Consortium to use traditional journalistic standards and solid documentary evidence to produce inventigative stories on important issues that the mainstream press has downplayed or ignored." Flipside Flipside is an independent, alternative on-line weekly from Canada
From-Left-Field Subtitled "all the news that bites". This site includes feature articles and other online resources.
Gemini News Service Includes world news items, grouped by month. Older news is archived and can also be viewed.
Grassroots News Network The Grassroots News Network is a coalition of over 100 community oriented groups and radio stations from around the world working together to collectively stand up to government and corporate entities and support and expand the movement for democratic communications worldwide. The Grassroots News Network was formed by grassroots broadcasters, free radio journalists and cyber-activists to provide us with the means to share radio programs via the Internet.
The Great Speckled Bird The Great Speckled Bird (also known as THE BIRD), is the "underground" liberal newspaper of Atlanta dating from the 1960s. This site links to individual columnists home pages and archived articles. THE BIRD also hosts the drive to establish a formal Liberal Party in the US.

Mid-Atlantic Infoshop Anarchist, activist and alternative news on the web. Daily postings of news stories of interest to anarchists. You can also look for news by country and region.
The Millennium Frontier The Millennium Frontier is an alternative news service and daily updated, database, serving more than 120 countries worldwide.
Mother Jones Interactive/MoJoWire The on-line edition of Mother Jones magazine. It includes news, feature articles and subscription information.
The Nation Digital Edition The digital edition of The Nation is published weekly and includes some of the same features as the print version as well as audio feeds, news briefs, etc. New material is added each Thursday.
New California Media New California Media is a collaboration between Pacific News Service and journalists representing 50 ethnic, print, electronic and TV outlets. Its services include a weekly TV talk show, an ethnic media digest column and this web site.
NewsTrolls NewsTrolls, a news aggregator, is dedicated to the collection and dissemination of news, articles, and opinions on all things Internet. It represents a collective spirit dedicated to the expression of free speech through links, articles and postings. NewsTrolls is also the hub for an on-line community devoted to vociferous debate on social, political, economic, and personal issues.

Project Censored The primary objective of Project Censored is to explore and publicize the texten of censorship in society by locating stories about significant issues of which the public should be aware, but is not. Each spring a national panel of media experts selects the top ten under-reported stories of the year. You can browse stories from 1989 through 1996 online.
The Russia Journal Russia's English language newspaper published every Monday in Moscow. Very interesting, but not very alternative.
The Smoking Gun "Twice a week, editors William Bastone and Daniel Green upload facsimiles of primary doucments they've obtained 'from government and law enforcement sources, via Freedom of Information requests, and from court files nationwide.' The Smoking Gun has the potential to grow into a tremendously valuable resource. Its power lies in making visible the invisible by exposing the banal, bureaucratic, warmed-over cabbage that makes things run. An example of this 'zine at its best came las April when The Smoking Gun published a 1963 FBI summary of the agency's file on Jackie Robinson. World New York World New York picks the best daily bits from the best digital publications. The quotes and extracts are the main point of this site, rather than the links. The extracts often can stand alone from the story they are drawn from, and often should; the links are often not nearly as good as the extracted lines.
